‘Social Innovation Summit’ in Malmö/Sweden

A major ‘Social Innovation Summit’, with coverage of the Nordic countries, was organised by Malmö University on 25th to 26th November 2015. The event took place under the umbrella of ‘Checkpoint Social Innovation’ which is the national knowledge centre for social innovation and societal entrepreneurship. The event aimed at showcasing the variety of SI-solutions that are observable in Sweden, and to some extent also in the other Nordic countries. Altogether, around 2000 conference participants came together for the occasion. The next Summit in this series is planned for November 2016.

A large number of dedicated representatives from academia as well as from private companies, municipalities and public organisations took part in the event. Material from SI-DRIVE was introduced by IKED, which will continue to cooperate with Malmö University and ‘Checkpoint Social Innovation’ on behalf of SI-DRIVE. In the next phase of this collaboration, the focus will be on the preparations of an action plan for ’100 SI in Sweden’.
